If you have high quality heavy fertilized grass in my area they will find it.Ī heavy rain will only kill the small ones. I get the little pests every year and usually more than once. I've had them in hay when it was only 2 weeks after I cut it. Dimlin is very good and very inexpensive but only garauntees a 2 week residual. The chemical you use depends on your stage of production and on whether you're grazing or haying. Sometimes once you see the cattle egrets it's too late. I prefer to check by walking and looking. But again this only tells you that you have worms. Another way is to drive across the field and look at your tires. Another way to check them is to drag a five gallon bucket across the field with a rope but this won't tell you how many you have. Treatment threshold is 3-4 worms per square foot.

Best to check right before dark or first thing in the morning. Check your fields at least every other day. I've had a lot of experience with them, unfortunately.
